One Adventure After the Other

In His Glory

Sorry, I have not updated sooner but so much has been going on in my life and am finally getting to my update. I have been a bit depressed but with prayer and guidance from my Saviour, here I am!  So sit back and enjoy!

I know I had mentioned before that I no longer would be part of the Levy Transformation Equipping Group. (previously named Levy Community Transformation). Well after much thought and prayer, I realized that I can still be part of it.  No problem even though I do not live in the community. We now meet every other Wednesday.  One Wednesday is our prayer night and the other Fellowship night.  I love being with my fellow brothers and sisters in this group. They are so special to me.

The Ministry House on Parker Street in Levy is now completely renovated.  Seth and Mandy McGuire have moved in (they are members of our Levy Group) and we are ready to receive visitors. We are there to outreach to the community - to spread the word whether they are believers that have gone astray, people who may have never heard God's name, the non-believer who wants to hear what we have to say, or even the believer who just wants to sit down and talk with us.  I pray that our visitors are many.
 2012 Mission Tip
Due to the numerous asthma problems and bronchitis, I was unable to go on my mission trip to Haiti. My doctor felt that I did not need to go this year but by next year, things should be better.  I missed going with my fellow missionaries but I loved hearing all they shared about their work and spreading the word.
2013 Mission Trip
I have learned that there will be a mission trip to the Dominican Republic sometime in June 2013!  I am so excited about this.  It will not be to Constanza but I am still so overwhelmed knowing I may be returning to the D.R.  It is a trip with the youth group at our church, the Summit Church.  We will be going to Jarabacoa.  Scott and Meleah Taylor and their daughters are missionaries from our church who live there.  I just can't believe they have been there a year already!  Scott is the Executive Director and Pastor at a Christian Boarding School named Caribbean Mountain Academy and Meleah is the Missions Team Coordinator.  It is a school for teens in crisis.  I will keep you informed.  Please pray as I pray that this is the direction God is leading me.  I feel it in my heart.

Discipling within my Community (Knollwood Mobile Home Park)
The Geyer Springs First Baptist Church on I30 has been in contact with the office.  They would like to set up a spot in the park to help the residents.  They have already mowed lawns for the senior adults back in June.  The weather has been so bad that they have not been able to do much yet.  It will be a blessing when they will be able to outreach in the name of God.  When I spoke to our Office Manager today, she said she was going to be in touch with them and get the status.  As for me, I continue to wait and pray that I will be part of this outreach.

My Dear Companian, Zachary
I am in tears sharing this with you - Zachary passed away in my arms on Christmas Night. As I had mentioned in November, he was very sick with a kidney infection.  His kidneys started to fail early December. I thank God that he was not in pain and we were able to be together until the end - and that I did not have to euthanize him. I took care of my little baby until the end.  He could not walk anymore and he could not use his litter box anymore. On December 5th he picked a spot in front of the entertainment center where he laid and could see me at all times.  I set up a little bed there with his blanket and put pee pee pads for him so he would not have to worry about getting to his litter box.  On Christmas Eve he stopped eating and drinking.  Around 10:00 p.m. Christmas Day he looked up at me and let out a very weak meow.  I always said he was summoning me when he would look up and meow. I got up and layed next to him.  But right before that, I saw him move his leg!  It was like God letting him know he was ready for him to walk to heaven. I knew it was his time and I layed there comforting and petting him. My neighbor Deb came over and sat with us. She placed him in my arms and he went to heaven peacefully.  I miss him so much.  He was my child.  Seventeen years we were together.  I still am unable to mention his name without tears.  Many people have told me to get another cat but I know myself, I would just be doing it to replace Zachy and I cannot do that.

I will never forget his loving and caring way.  God Bless You Zachy!

Family and Friends
My niece Becky got married on June 23rd.  It was a very nice wedding.  It was held at Derek's house in Conway.  After the ceremony, they had a cook out.  It was a very special day for her children also - Juniper and Elliot.  Elliot was best man and Juniper was maid of honor. Derek is a very nice person and I pray for them and their new family. I pray that all goes well and that they are guided by God in all that they do.

My brother is now a realtor for Crye Leike.  Now both him and Prissy are realtors.  They also have several booths at Blue Suede Shoes Antique Mall which keeps him pretty busy.  In fact, they went on a shopping trip to Texas a few weeks ago and brought back some bargains!

I got to see my nieces from Colorado and their mom at Becky's wedding.  That was neat.  We were all together. We had a great time celebrating Becky's wedding.

I will be flying to Charlotte, North Carolina the first week in October to visit my sister and her family. She lives in a small town called Connelly Springs which is outside of Hickory.  Have not seen her since our mom passed away.  I will be seeing my nieces and their children also.  It has been years and I am very excited. This will be a neat trip.  I will spend a week there and then fly to Baltimore to visit family.  I will be staying with my cousin.  The last time I saw her was back in 1999.  Mmmmmm crabs and beer!!!!!

Then in November I will be driving down to Slidell to stay with my sister a while. Will spend Thanksgiving with her and her family.  My brother in law and I will  be fishing a lot. Kevin is great.  He is Creole and is a great cook.  He will be cooking up some mean Creole meals. My step mom and daughter live in Metairie and I will be visiting them also. New Orleans is in between Slidell and Metairie.

Next year sometime, I plan to go to Colorado and visit Jenny and Angie and their families and also their mom Judy.

My friend Angie has three dogs - Jack, Jill, and Gabriel.  Jill was diagnosed with a cancerous growth on her knee.  She had surgery about a month ago.  God blessed us with good news, all was removed - no need for chemo!   We brought her back after a week of staying at the hospital in Memphis. (Memphis is the closest oncology hospital for animals) The stitches ripped and we took her back.  They kept her another week.  She had a bacterial infection and they could not do anything until that was cleared. They operated yesterday to take some of the excess skin from her stomach to grow over the spot.  They feel this will work and said surgery went very well.  She will stay another week and hopefully she will get to come home soon.  Jill is such a sweet dog.  Jack and Gabriel miss her.  Poor Angie also had to take Gabriel to the doctor because he was not feeling well and then Jack was not feeling well.  Hmmmm wonder if some is just missing Jill???  All is well now.  It is hard to get Jack to eat because he has pancriatitis and does not like to eat dog food much but she has found a dog food that he is eating now.  Like I said before, pets are our children.  We love and care for them and will do what has to be done to keep them well.  God bless them!

Hat Looming
When I went up to Michigan with Angie to visit her family in April, I loomed quite a few hats.  It gets pretty cold up there in the winter time.  So I left a few for them to enjoy.  I loved watching them try them on.  In fact, Brianna (one of Angie's cousins)  wore hers the entire time we were there!  I also made two for a young man who was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  Angie's mom gave them to his sister for him.  She loved them. It was rewarding to make it for him.  I will start looming in about a month.  Need to make quite a few Razorback ones as they sell well.  If you would like one, please let me know.  Go the the looming page and see the prices.

My Manuscripts
Zach the Cat
I have finally found an illustrator!!  Illustrations is his profession and he goes to my church.  He will be helping me by the end of the year.  The manuscript is finished.  I just need the illustrations and off to publishing.  I will  also have it published in spanish. I am so excited that he will be helping me.

Walking the Healing Path
I have finished the manuscript and hopefully will have it published by the end of the year. It is hard to find a "traditional publisher"  These are ones that you do not have to pay to have it published.  You really have to have a good manuscript for one of these traditionals to publish it.  Please pray that I get lucky here!
